We have been seeing a new bug in Windows 7 and Windows 10 clients. When you try to connect to a RemoteApp, the details button may not activate, and the Remote Connect window either hangs, or throws an error. Rebooting the PC generally clears this issue, but we have generated a script that will reset the Remote Desktop Client on your local PC and allow you to log in without a reboot. This is a known bug in the current release of Remote Desktop.
To resolve this issue, download the script below (ResetRDP.bat) using your local PC's web browser (not the web browser in the cloud/server) and place it on your desktop on your LOCAL PC. (you can drag/drop it from your downloads to your desktop).
- Once you have the script on your desktop, right-click the ResetRDP file and select "Run as Administrator"
- If you are presented with a warning about the file, click More Info, then Run Anyway, then Yes to allow
- You can run the script as administrator any time your connection is hanging or throwing an error.
- Always verify your internet connection is actually working before running the script
